Become Passionate!

Like everything you should create a foundation. Take a building site as an example. It starts from its plans, then built from the base up until it is constructed. If the initial structure is weak it is likely to weaken and possibly collapse. So you need to consider what drives you forward. Where does your passion lie? Once you have discovered your true get-up-and-go strength, what would allow you to build a promising career path. Then you can go about fine tuning and searching for the right opening. You may find it difficult to get past thinking about “what career pays the most” or “what is more secure,” especially in today’s economy. However, it is important today to find the right career, so tomorrow you can put all of your energy into something you really enjoy!

Exploring your career opportunities

  • Focus on the things you really love to do - What have you dreamed of doing in the past? What do you naturally enjoy doing? Write down what comes to your mind, no matter how implausible it seems.
  • Look for clues all over the place - Search for projects or topics that stir your compassion or excite your imagination. Reflect on the stories of people you admire. Ask yourself why particular activities make you happy, and make sure you pay attention to those times when you are really enjoying yourself.
  • Patience is a virtue - Remember it takes time to to search and may take longer than you thought; meaning you may have to go down a few different roads before finding the right career path. Time and contemplating your own feelings will help you identify the activities you most enjoy and that brings your true satisfaction.
